We are back up and running with gin tastings and cocktails in the gin garden at the Tasting Room starting from this Saturday and Sunday 12.30-5.30pm. . . Walk in’s only with a max numbers of 20 allowed in the garden at any one time. Don’t forget to BYO Blanket! Please no large groups as restrictions allow for a max of 6 guests per table. Take away bottle sales available. . Due to the limited number of guests we have restrict our patronage to an 18+ age group at this time. With government restrictions on serving meals with drinks now lifted, we are excited to announce that we will be opening the Tasting Room for two weekends during the Victorian school holidays, commencing this weekend. As we have a very small internal bar area, we will only be serving drinks outside in the Gin Garden (weather dependent). We can't wait to have our gin tastings, G&T’s and cocktails available for you again. Max numbers allowed in the garden at any one time will be 20. BYO Blanket! Please no large groups as restrictions allow for a max of 6 guests per table. Take away bottle sales available. This is probably our favourite shrub we have tried so far! Add a rich autumnal plum flavour to your cocktails with this seasonal plum shrub! . . PLUM SHRUB 6 plums 160g caster sugar 5 limes (160ml juice) 100ml sherry vinegar 100ml red wine vinegar 1 small piece of ginger 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1L glass jar . Chop the plums by slicing off the cheeks, and remaining flesh around the core. Slice ginger. Chop the plums cheeks, making sure you leave at least 6 cheeks unchopped. Add the plums to a small saucepan with sliced ginger, cinnamon & both vinegars. Stew on a low heat for a couple of minutes, just until the plums start to soften, then take off the heat. Put the whole plum cheeks in your glass jar, while with the remaining mixture, add juice of limes & caster sugar, blitz this in a blender until sugar dissolves. Pour this into the glass jar along with the plum cheeks. The stewed plum cheeks make a great garnish for drinks! . . #greatoceanroadgin #gorg #shrubday #shrub #recipe #s
Spiked hot chocolate, yes please! For those who are lucky enough to have got their hands on our Grapefruit-cello, this recipe is for you! . . Spiked Hot Chocolate (serves 2) 90ml Grapefruit-cello 200ml milk 15-20g dark chocolate Pinch of salt 1 teaspoon of sugar syrup Turmeric to garnish . Melt the dark chocolate into the milk on low heat, in a small saucepan. Add Grapefruit-cello, sugar & pinch of salt, heat for 2-3 more minutes.
